Fallen Oak Tree Shuts Down Main Street

The area will be closed for "most of the morning" while the tree is removed.

A large oak tree which fell in the vicinity of East Main and North Crisler streets has shut down a portion ofΒ Main Street, authorities say.

According to Mayor Gene Hobgood, crews believe it will take "most of the morning" to clear the downed tree and re-open the area for traffic.

The intersection of East Main and North Crisler streets is close to McCanless Park and Zion Baptist Church.
