Etowah River Alliance to Dedicate Groundbreaking Project

1. has four, 1,700-gallon cisterns that provide free rain water to flush toilets, water landscape and wash fire trucks. And on April 28, the Upper Etowah River Alliance will have an official ribbon cutting ceremony at the Marietta Highway facility, officials announced on Tuesday. "By using free rain water," watershed director Diane Minick said, "this station is providing over 200,000 gallons per year of unused treated water that will be available for the city to allow for new growth without increasing withdrawals from the river. Come see how it is done and how it can not only save money, but also protect the streams from stormwater erosion and provide water for growth." The ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
