Cherokee Native To March in Obama Inauguration Parade

Capt. Ashley E. Moore will march with the Marine Corps' service staff in the 57th Presidential Inaugural Parade.

A Cherokee County native will be among thousands of citizens participating in the 57th Presidential Inauguration parade today.

Capt. Ashley E. Moore of Woodstock will march with the Marine Corps' service staff during the parade, which will march pass the White House along Pennsylvania Avenue and arrive at the U.S. Capitol before the ceremony.

Moore told the Defense Video and Imagery Distribution System that it was an "honor" for her to participate in the ceremony.

Moore will march in the parade along with four other officers and other Marine Barracks Washington service members.

Moore and other military officials are part of the Joint Task Force National Capital Region (JTF-NCR), which serves as the Department of Defense Liaison to the Presidential Inauguration Committee and the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies
