Community Corner

Cherokee FCA Sponsors the 4th annual Fields of Faith at Cherokee High School.

Fields of Faith is a peer-to-peer event. Students invite their own classmates and teammates to hear fellow students share their testimonies, be challenged to read the Word of God and follow Jesus Christ. An athletic field provides a neutral, interdenominational rally point where a community can come together.

On Wednesday night, the community came out to celebrate the 4th annual Fields of Faith event  and were treated to a night of entertainment, testimonies from fellow students.

The evening began with some introductions, accolades, t-shirts shot out of a air canon and prayer.  Students were entertained by the band Neverclaim out of Portland, Oregon.  Cherokee student Ronnie Chastain introduced the opening students speaker Griffin Dwyer a Sequoyah Senior.  Griffin gave her testimony and was followed by the Parents of Emily Bowman speaking on her behalf about Emily’s journey and the road ahead.  Emily’s story can be followed on the Facebook page Bows for Bowman, check it out and see how you can help.  Next, Sequoyah assistant football coach Jeremy Law spoke and challenged the students.
