No Option - Only A Dead End

It's time to repave the road to a quality education for all children. Vote "Yes" on Amendment 1!

I was recently told by someone voting No on Amendment 1 that charter schools don’t need Amendment 1 to be put in place, they need Amendment 1 to make it easier.

While this statement is not true because it simply creates an appeals process for charter schools who have been denied. I thought more about the statement made by the opposition.  What a concept – to make it easier for a child to receive a quality education that can make a drastic improvement in their life.

Since when do  American’s want to make it difficult for the children to be able to learn in an environment that stimulates their mind instead of stifling it and in some cases completely smothering it to a point of drop-out? When a state’s drop out rate is as high as Georgia’s (32.6%) we should be doing all we can to make it easier for a child to learn instead of intentionally making it difficult by setting up roadblocks that only re-route to dead ends.

Our children don’t have the time to wait around on someone else to come up with the “best” way that is accepted by all – it will never happened because everyone is unique with their own unique sets of ideas, believes and style. We need to come together and create environments today that will make it possible for a child to learn how to read without having to jump through a bunch of hoops and get tangled in all the red tape – our children – our future need this today!

Vote "Yes" on Amendment 1 to make not the process of charter school approval easier but to make it easier for a struggling child to learn.
