Candidate Supporter's Home Vandalized

Politics can be nasty, but an attack on supporters in a school board race drops to a moral low for Cherokee County residents.

Editor's note: Supporters of Kyla Cromer did not remove yard signs as stated in this blog post. For an update, read "."

Politics are getting nasty in Cherokee County. Supporters of Kyla Cromer have stooped to new lows. One resident in a prominent Cherokee County subdivision, who proudly showed their support for Cherokee County School Board Candidate Kelly Marlow with a sign in their yard, awoke this morning to find their home vandalized. Kyla Cromer signs were placed in their yard while their trees and bushes were decked out with rolls of toilet paper.

This election is supposed to be about what is best for our children but what kind of message are we sending our children with actions like this. I don’t know if it was adults or teens but either way the adults to need stand up and take responsibility for their actions because either way the “responsible” adults played a part in this action. It sad to see that people will drop to a level like this. If they have a problem with a candidate it needs to be handled in a mature way,not by simply bashing and attacking the supporters. We live in America and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I urge people to use facts and words to persuade people if you believe strongly in your candidate of choice instead of taking physical action, and may I say cowardly pranks against the opponent’s supporters.
