Runoff Elections Today for City Council, Senate District 14

Today is Election Day for voters in the city of Canton and Senate District 14.

Voters in the city of Canton and Senate District 14 will once again head to the polls today to decide the election of three races.

The runoff for the Nov. 5 general election is today for two Canton City Council races and the race in the Senate district, which were forced into a runoff after neither candidate received enough votes needed to win the seats.

Canton residents will decide if Sandy McGrew or Clint Weatherby will be elected to the Ward 1 seat and if they want either Farris Yawn or John Rust to assume the Ward 3 seat.

Voters in Senate District 14, which includes most of Cherokee County west of Interstate 575, will decide between Republicans Bruce Thompson and Matt Laughridge.

Polls will be open between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. today and voters can check where their polling place is by visiting the Georgia Secretary of State's My Voter Page.
