Event Raises Money For Teasley Band Program

Battle of the Bands will be held on Saturday.

An event will be held on Saturday to help Teasley Middle School raise the money it needed to purchase more instruments for its band program.

Battle of the Bands kicks off at noon Saturday at Cannon Park. The event will music, food, drinks and cornhole. A 50/50 raffle will also be held to benefit the school's program.

The event, which is sponsored by the Canton Main Street Program, Audio Intersection, Donley's Music and The Painted Pig Tavern, also will accept woodward, brass or percussion instruments that would be donated towards the program. 

The band program, which has grown to 250 students in the last two years under the direction of Sean Furilla, currently needs 30 instruments, which each cost between $1,000 and $5,000.
