Canton, Cherokee Offices Close for Christmas

The city of Canton and Cherokee County government offices will both be closed today and on Wednesday in observance of the Christmas holiday.

Additionally, county government offices will remain closed on Thursday, and will re-open for normal hours on Friday.

City of Canton employees will return to their normal schedules on Thursday. 

In Canton, Waste Management will not collect residential waste garbage on Christmas, so trash service will be delayed by one day. The company will resume services on Thursday Dec. 26. If your regularly scheduled pick-up day is Wednesday, then your service will shift to Thursday.

Residents whose trash is collected on Thursday will have their service pushed back to Friday. Those who normally enjoy a Friday pick-up will have their service fulfilled on Saturday. 

Additionally:

• The Sequoyah Regional Library System will be closed today, tomorrow, Thursday and will re-open on Friday.
• The Cherokee County School District remains closed this week.
• Offices at Reinhardt University will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas, but will re-open on Thursday.
• Chattahoochee Technical College offices are all closed this week.
