The Cherokee County Historical Society will have a book signing and art show tonight to raise money for its operations.
The Elly Hobgood Art Show and Rebecca Johnston Book Signing to benefit the organization starts tonight at 5 p.m. at Chamberhouse in downtown Canton.
Johnston's book, "Cherokee County, Georgia: A History," details the history of the county and includes over 200 rarely seen photographs, maps and documents.
Hobgood is a noted artist whose paintings range from local historic landmarks, landscapes, florals and still lifes. The selection of Hobgood's notecards, Christmas cards, and both framed and unframed giclee prints will be available for purchase.
