DESCRIPTION:The Martin Luther King\, Jr. Unity Breakfast is the premier e
 vent in Cherokee County that recognizes the&nbsp\;legacy of one of Ameri
 ca&rsquo\;s greatest civil rights icons.\nFor more than a decade\, the U
 nity Breakfast has drawn&nbsp\;hundreds of residents from all racial\, p
 olitical\, social and religious backgrounds to promote unity among the&n
 bsp\;citizens of the county. &nbsp\;\nThe theme for 2013 is &nbsp\;&ldqu
 o\;Speaking With One Voice&rdquo\; This years&rsquo\; event will also&nb
 sp\;commemorate the 50thAnniversary of the American Civil Rights Movemen
 t.\nGuests will enjoy a complimentary&nbsp\;breakfast as well as perform
 ances by dynamic speakers\, musical groups\, and other performances.\nTh
 e event&nbsp\;is capped by highlighting the MLK Scholarship Fundraiser a
 nd presenting of the MLK Unity Award to an&nbsp\;individual who has made
  a positive impact on the county by fostering harmonious racial and cult
 ural relations.\nThe MLK UNITY Award was established in 1999 by Reverend
  Carl A. Moore\, Sr.\, Pastor of Allen Temple&nbsp\;AME Church in Woodst
 ock\, to recognize the contributions of an individual who has made a pos
 itive&nbsp\;impact on the community by fostering harmonious racial and c
 ultural relations. &nbsp\;\nThe award is presented duringAllen Temple AM
 E Church&rsquo\;s Annual Martin Luther King\, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast\
