Everyone needs a little cinematic guidance from time to time. Occasionally, Canton-Sixes Patch will tell you about a movie that's filming in our area, point you in the direction of the next blockbuster or steer you away from a flop.Disney's The Odd Life of Timothy Green, which was filmed in Canton and other locations across metro Atlanta, makes its big screen debut Wednesday. Part of the movie, which stars Golden Globe Award winner Jennifer Garner, was shot at the Cherokee Arts Center in March 2011. "They're using our theater here for a town hall scene," Dianne Langston, the center's former executive director, said at the time. "They've painted the theater. They've put new carpet in. It looks amazing." About 260 extras, some of them from Canton, were cast for the town hall scene. The Odd Life of Timothy Green tells the…
Jammed with action and emotion, the final Harry Potter movie is the only film in the series that is in 3-D, and it’s worth it. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 neatly wraps up the young wizard's life as he faces his destiny. After 10 years and eight films, this final chapter might leave you misty-eyed if you are not careful. Harry, Ron and Hermione (Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson) continue their mission to destroy the rest of the seven Horcruxes that contain pieces of the soul of the evil Lord Voldemort. You don’t have to be a Potterphile to enjoy this movie, but …

Little Fockers, the third installment of the series everyone knows, led at the box offices last weekend and raked in $48.3 million over five days. While the (relatively) funny sequel took the top spot, very few attended the Focker family reunion this year compared to 2004's Meet the Fockers, whose first five days pulled a whopping $70.5 million. In Little Fockers, Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) and his wife Pam (Teri Polo) are happily married with 5-year-old twins Samantha and Henry. Life is great. Greg has a new job and is even getting along with Pam's former CIA father, Jack (Robert DeNiro). …
This Christmas, there are a number of fantastic movies, even a few Golden Globe nominees. Heavyweight contender, The Fighter, is the movie to see. Nominated for six Globes, including Best Picture, Best Lead Actor (Mark Wahlberg) and Best Director (David O. Russell), the film has already grossed more than $16 million domestically since its Dec. 10 limited release. The Fighter is based on the true story of professional boxer "Irish" Micky Ward (played by Wahlberg) and his older half-brother Dicky Eklund (Christian Bale). Ward is a boxer from working-class Lowell, MA. He lives in the shadow of …
