Woodstock High Student Charged With Terroristic Threats
The teenager posted on Twitter, “Planning on pulling a Columbine tomorrow guys, be prepared!”
A Woodstock High School student is behind bars after threatening a Columbine-type attack.
Lake Reynolds, a 17-year-old junior, has been charged with making terroristic threats and remains at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on a $1,200 bond.
Reynolds at 12:21 a.m. Friday posted "Plannin on pullin a colombine (sic) tomorrow guys.. Be prepared!" on his Twitter account (see the attached screen shot of the tweet).
The reference is to the April 1999 shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado that killed 12 students, one teacher and injured dozens of others before the two gunmen killed themselves.
Woodstock parents alerted school officials to the tweet and the school notified the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
The student was pulled out of class Friday morning and admitted to making the tweets.
“He was not armed and there is no indication that Reynolds actually planned a ‘Columbine’ attack,” Sheriff's Office Spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said in a press release. “However, he is being charged with the threat.”
The Cherokee County School District on Friday sent home a letter with students for parents, alerting them of the situation.
"Although we did not find any evidence of plans by anyone to actually conduct a terroristic event, we remain on alert," Principal Bil Sebring wrote.
Baker went on to say that law enforcement officials do take threats on social media seriously.
“Students should be aware that social media threats made about violence at a schools, even when a hoax, will result in criminal charges in Cherokee County,” Baker added.

Time to get serious and punish this type of behavior to the max, it only takes one discounted threat for our kids to be in the crosshair of an attack. Think before you act, if youre screaming for attention or are that angry, see someone for help. Hell at the very least hit the gym and a punching bag.

To wake up in the morning and seeing the many bars and stores selling liquor and willing to kill you to get your money and a bunch of crazies overseas plotting to kill you,how can a teenager train his mind on doing good? Hundreds are killed each year in Georgia by DUI and thousands are killed each year by abortion in the state and we see nothing but death daily. With mothers in the legislature, county commissions, city halls, and mayors' offices legalizing alcohol in front of kids willing to destroy them for their money, can Columbine be far from a teenager's mind? Those who kill with alcohol and abortion for money kill far more than the killers at Columbine. It is time to cleanse the state of the evils, lust for money, and lack of concern for their communities. When our state, counties, and towns clean themselves up, then maybe teenagers will clean their minds up.
We desperately need a prohibition amendment. Join Georgia Prohibition and make our towns, counties, state, schoolboys' mind clean. Then maybe we won;t have to punish a boy for just talking about committing a crime.

Above is the most ridiculous response to this incident I can imagine! Liquor stores and abortion have absolutely NOTHING to do with the Twitter rants of a disturbed teenager. Hey Billy Joe Parker! Stop trying to turn a sensational headline into one of your archaic causes. I am more afraid of narrow minded people like you than I am afraid of some teenager's idle Twitter threat!

Hey Billy Joe, why don't you head over to Afghanistan and live under the Taliban? Sounds like you would fit right in.

Bad timing for this one. I'd hate to be this kid in court right after a brutal school shooting.
