Video: Rogers on Balanced Budget Amendment

Senate Resolution 673 calls for a convention for the purpose of proposing a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

 

In his weekly video legislative update, Georgia Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) talks about Senate Resolution 673, which passed by a vote of 30-20 on Wednesday.

Wow. Chip has time for a balanced budget amendment? Did he run out of ways to undermine public education in the state and has moved on to federal matters? I certainly hope so.

A balanced budget amendment...Really? Come on Chip, you know that a "balanced budget amendment" is just a political toy that is thrown around to score points with uninformed voters. You also know that every economist says that governments must have the ability to incur debt to build infrastructure and stimulate the economy. You also know that cutting expenditures during a recession is the absolute worst thing to do as it only makes the recession deeper and longer to recover from.

You also know that most Americans have the financial knowledge of a gnat and that you can manipulate them with lies and half-truths. Ain't America Great!
