Video: How Would You Grade Cherokee County's Response to the Winter Storm?
Canton-Sixes Patch stopped by a Sixes Road salon to take the pulse of the community.
From Sunday night, when the first snow flake fell, until Thursday morning, there were 30 car accidents reported to 911 county wide, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said. Of that number, only three reported injuries and those were not severe or life threatening. For perspective, the icy conditions that surprised evening commuters on Dec. 15, 2010, resulted in 173 accidents in a matter of hours.
"We were very fortunate that the snow started late Sunday night and many people chose to stay off the roads until later in the week," Baker said Friday morning.
How would you grade Cherokee County's response to the winter storm? Were officials prepared? Did they keep you informed? That's the topic of this week's Barbershop-Beautyshop Buzz. Videographer Zachary Toth stopped by Salon Papillon to take the pulse of the community. Here's his report.
