Although I do not know or understand all the details of either side (and many will not), I can attest that Sgt Bailey was a great influence on my son in the Explorers program, while she was in charge. Regardless of whether the accusations are true, she was a positive influence on my son, and fostered his desire and interest in pursuing his love for criminal justice and a potential career in Law Enforcement. I thank her for that.

Ma, how can you post such hateful hurtful words, would you like to have your life invaded as her's was? It is no one's business who anyone dates. The issue at hand is this, the funds for the golf cart were approved by the board, the explorers & Chief Lance while he was there over the department, the golf cart for purchased for a child who has a serious illness that limits him abilities at times to be able to walk or be out in the community with his siblings & friends. I am tired of people who are clueless what exactly transpired posting ignorant hateful messages. If you can't say your words to the person you are trashing on the internet then don't use your computer to hide behind. Stacy was a great officer who was involved in many community service activities & to my knowledge working & volunteering with her on many of those activities she did a great job. It's unfortunate all that has transpired in the Canton community.

Also just for the record, I don't think the funds used for the golf cart in question were government funds, as I remember doing specific fundraising to be able to purchase the cart for the child. I may be wrong, but I think the funds in question are private funds as the funds were given by citizens specifically for the purchase of the golf cart.
I have kept silent over this manner for months, I have not discussed or posted anything regarding this until now.
I have a high level of respect for the city, it's departments and employees. It is quite sad & unfortunate everything that has transpired in the past. I won't bad mouth anyone as that is quite childish to do so and I have more respect for the city & myself than to lower myself to immature standards for anyone. Thank you for allowing me to post. It would be more productive if people would stop posting & behaving like immature uneducated people, and be polite & respectful in their comments.

None of the money Bailey used to purchase the golf cart was public funds; all the money was donated by private citizens with the knowledge that the money would go towards helping a needy child. What they did not know was how Bailey was connected to the child.

As a long time police officer, not in Canton I offer you this. Bailey may have done good things with the youth of Canton, but you are missing the true issue. As officers, like it or not we are held to a higher standard. That means her alleged affair with another married officer that happens to have a son that had a special need and received a direct benefit from the explorer’s bank account, is wrong. If you don’t think that an officers private live is public knowledge than ask yourself this...When was the last time a carpenter, banker, or food industry worker had his or her name on the front page of a newspaper for a domestic incident? Never, but a cop will be on the front page before the report is complete. Her actions brought questionable decision making to the city, her fellow officers, and her profession. She was wrong, she knows how things work in our profession and she choose to ignore how we operate. Therefore, she needs to be held accountable for her actions. It does not make her a bad person but a poor decision maker.
