Under the theme “Faithful People Praising an Eternally Faithful God,” St. Paul AME's 115th anniversary celebration will begin at noon today with an outdoor "Church Outside the Walls" service. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, then stay after service for a cookout.

Other celebrations include:

• 7 p.m. Sept. 10: Rev. Frederick D. Forsh will preach.
• 7 p.m. Sept. 12: Service will be led by Rev. Andrew K. King.
• 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14: The 3rd Annual "Chastain @ St. Paul, An Evening of Gospel Jazz and Inspiration," will feature mime artist Elizabeth Allen, psalmist Rev. Natalie Jackson, saxophonist Jeff Sparks and recording artist Alycia Levels.
• 11 a.m. Sept. 16: Rev. Maria Mallory White will preach. There will be dinner after service.
• 3 p.m. Sept. 16: Members will worship through creative arts: dance, mime, drama, step and visual arts.

Catalyst Church settles in new Woodstock location

A grand opening is planned for 10 a.m. Sept. 9 at the church’s new location, 9872 Main Street, Woodstock. Pastor Kevin Ellington said the church started in October 2011 and has met in a home, office and clubhouse before settling into the 8,000-square-foot permanent location.

“I like where we are on Main Street, in a fantastic area where we can do a tremendous amount of ministry,” said Ellington. “Our goal is to improve our community. Everything we do needs to be life-giving; it needs to give life to people and encourage and uplift.”

Community outreach has included a food drive, providing Christmas gifts for families, and a coat drive. Small groups will begin in October. For more information, visit www.catalystonline.tv.
