Downtown Eateries Growing

The Soul Food Market and Goin' Coastal are expanding.

Due to growth,  will be serving its muffins and chicken salad sandwiches from a new location starting on May 29.

The downtown Canton restaurant announced this afternoon that it is moving out of on May 26.

"The Soul Food Market is expanding and moving two doors down the street to 192 East Main Street (formerly Red Rose Café)," Farris Yawn, the bookstore's founder and owner, said in a news release.

Starting June 4, Yawn's will continue to offer dining options under a different name, Mom's Diner.

"The continued support of these two businesses by the residents of Canton and Cherokee County is greatly appreciated," Yawn said.

This is the second downtown eatery to announce expansion plans. Within the next four to six weeks, hopes to finish an expansion that will allow it to sit an additional 30 people and install a full bar, according to a report in Friday's edition of the Cherokee Tribune.
