Seven Vehicle Accident Results in Minor Injuries

The accident occurred near the entrance of the Georgia National Cemetery west of Canton.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the cause of seven-vehicle accident that occured Friday morning on Highway 20/Knox Bridge Highway near the entrance of the Georgia National Cemetery.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the call at 10:30 a.m. and when emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they discovered the accident involved Kia Optima, a BMW, Toyota Scion, Nissan Maxima, a Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla and a Ford pickup truck.

The Kia, BMW and Toyota Corolla had major damage and the remaining vehicles sustained minor damages.

However, drivers and passengers in the vehicles only received minor injuries. The driver and passenger of the BMW were headed to a memorial service at the cemetery when the accident happened. 

Cherokee Fire transported the two to the cemetery after they gave their statements to the Georgia State Patrol.
