Applications for the four Cherokee science, technology, engineering and math academies and two fine arts academies that are slated to open this fall will be available on the school district's website starting on April 9.

One of the STEM academies will be housed at Canton Elementary and one of the fine arts academies will be at Hasty Elementary.

Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis from April 16 through May 11.

The attached letter will be going home to parents of elementary school students this week and details the options for enrollment, transportation and curriculum at the academies.
