Cherokee Official Urges Hurricane Prep

1. Hurricane Preparedness Week runs through Saturday, and Cherokee's emergency director wants to remind residents to make preparations now for the threat of severe weather. "Due to the severe thunderstorms and tornadoes that hurricanes and tropical storms can produce in this part of the state, Cherokee County residents should begin now gathering the basic supplies they and their family will need if at some point they have to take shelter," said Robby Westbrook, director of the Cherokee County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
