Madeline Tully's Accomplishments: Maddy recently signed her letter of intent to play soccer for Georgia College in the fall.  

Madeline Tully's Key to Awesomeness: "She is a great student, athlete and leader," said Sydney Tully, Maddy's sister and the person who nominated her for this week's Whiz Kids honor. "Maddy was elected captain of Sequoyah's varsity soccer team this year and she plays club soccer for NASA. She was a leading goal scorer for her U19 team in the fall. Maddy is a peer facilitator at Sequoyah, a member of the National Honor Society, a Lamp of Knowledge winner and a scholar athlete. In the summer, Maddy works as a lifeguard. She is a volunteer for Lose the Training Wheels, a special needs bike camp."

Canton-Sixes Patch is looking for its next Whiz Kids and Prep Athletes of the Week.

If you think your child, student or protege is worthy of either of these honors, submit your nominations in our comment box below or email the information to rodney.thrash@patch.com.

The Whiz Kid's photograph and mini-bio will appear on the site at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Occasionally, a new Prep Athlete of the Week will be announced at 8 a.m. Thursday.

Be sure to include all of the following information:

  • Nominator's Name
  • Nominator's Email
  • Nominee's Name
  • Nominee's Age
  • Nominee's School
  • Nominee's Accomplishment
  • Nominee's Key to Awesomeness (what made him/her successful?)
  • A current photo of the nominee (Attach as a JPEG image.)

Nominate a junior member of our community as often as you'd like.
