Disney Film Shot in Canton Opens Wednesday

The town hall scene was filmed at the Cherokee Arts Center.

Disney's The Odd Life of Timothy Green, which was filmed in Canton and other locations across metro Atlanta, makes its big screen debut Wednesday.

Part of the movie, which stars Golden Globe Award winner Jennifer Garner, was shot at the Cherokee Arts Center in March 2011.

"They're using our theater here for a town hall scene," Dianne Langston, the center's former executive director, said at the time. "They've painted the theater. They've put new carpet in. It looks amazing."

About 260 extras, some of them from Canton, were cast for the town hall scene.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green tells the story of Cindy and Jim Green, played by Garner and Joel Edgerton. Excited to start a family, a boy shows up on their doorstep one stormy night and changes the couple's view on what it is to love and be loved.
