Jerrold Reaid, 63, hails from Acworth and sustained a broken ankle when he was struck by a vehicle at approximately 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. Reaid has been a crossing guard for about six years, according to a Sheriff's Office press release.
Reaid was treated for his injuries at Northside Hospital-Cherokee and was released the same day he was struck.
Authorities are still searching for the vehicle that struck Reaid. The Sheriff's Office has described the vehicle as a silver Honda Prelude with a large University of Tennessee stylized "T" on the rear window. The person driving the Honda is described as white male who was wearing a black shirt and black hat at the time of the incident.
