A "community partner" this morning donated $45,000 to Clayton Elementary School, according to a statement from the Cherokee County School District.
The school's PTA is raising money to install a new playground at the school, district spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby said.
Executives and board members from the donating organization joined school officials at this morning's presentation, which was held at the school.

That's awesome! Who was this amazing "community partner"? I would love to make sure I shop their business or use their service, I believe giving back to your community is extremely important and would love to support those that do. Its my own little way of giving back.

Amicalola EMC Donates $45,000 to CES PTA For A New Playground
Today in Clayton ES PTA (8 photos)Big things are happening to a small school in northern Cherokee County. Clayton what, where? That is the response when you tell people what school we are. But that is about to ...change. Clayton Elementary received the biggest known donation in the history of Cherokee County from Amicalola EMC today.
The morning began with a pep rally. Cherokee High School's Principal, Debra Murdock, loaded a bus with cheerleaders and band members and drove north to provide the entertainment. After the fun began it was interupted by PTA and a large group of followers.
Co-President Chrissa Hofstetter spoke about the special people that make up our small school of 323 kids. She introduced Mr. Charles Gibson, CEO of AEMC. He explained some of the story about how PTA came to them asking for help. He brought forward a board member that presented Co-President Hofstetter with a check, yes the giant card board kind! When Mr. Gibson read the check out loud to the students, the noise in the cafeteria became deafening! $45,000!! Clayton Cougars landed right in the middle of a real life fairy tale!
PTA will never be able to thank AEMC enough for the gratitude that they have shown a small, quiet school. Quiet until today that is!
