Supreme Court Gains Cherokee Native

3. Marlow and Cromer were among the candidates who debated Monday night before a packed house at the Cherokee County Republican Party headquarters. Return to the site later for coverage from the debate, which also featured Georgia Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) and Brandon Beach, Republican candidates for State Sentate District 21.   

4. Gov. Nathan Deal announced Monday the appointment of Keith R. Blackwell to the Supreme Court of Georgia. The Ball Ground native will be sworn in July 19.

5. The Cherokee County School District Preschool Special Education Centers have received a $10,000 grant from the Joseph Daniel Howard Foundation to purchase music programs, listening centers and iPads, district spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby said on Monday.
