Emergency service personnel received the call shortly after 5:30 PM and responded to the scene of the accident. The accident involved a Ford Mustang that had apparently left the road, went down an embankment and struck some trees. Upon impact, the car was cut in half, ejecting the driver from the vehicle. According to Medcon operator, Dean Hege, the driver, a female in her mid 40s, had orthopedic injuries, plus internal injuries as well. She was life-flighted by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center in critical condition.
