BridgeMill Tennis Player Helps Team Win 2nd in State
Elizabeth Ryan is this Week's Whiz Kid.
Elizabeth (Lizzy) Ryan
Elizabeth's Age: 12
Elizabeth's School: Freedom Middle School
Elizabeth's Accomplishments: Lizzy, as her close friend's and family call her, is a straight A student and enjoys the challenge of being placed in advanced classes. "We are so fortunate to have such a dynamic and compassionate daughter," said proud mom, Patty Ryan. "She never disappoints us."
Elizabeth's Key to Awesomeness: Lizzy is an academy player at BridgeMill Tennis Center. Head professional RJ Dunkle said he has watched Lizzy "turn into a much more dedicated young player in the past year." Two weeks ago, Lizzy helped her United Stated Tennis Association team come in second at a state competition in Macon.
More important than winning is Lizzy's ability to show good sportsmanship on the tennis court. "She always compliments her opponents and teammates when they make good shots or when they have a tough match," her mother said. "She always enters and leaves the court with a smile."
When Lizzy is not on the tennis court or studying, she plays with Duke, her 9-month-old puppy. He can now follow commands and do tricks thanks to Lizzy's training.
