According to Cherokee elections supervisor Janet Munda, a controversial transportation referendum and a number of competitive local races drove more early voters to the polls this year than four years ago. 4. One person is dead after a fiery, early morning crash on Interstate 575, Cobb County Police Officer Michael Bowman said Friday. And two suspects wanted in connection with auto thefts in Acworth's Twin Pines subdivision were arrested Saturday morning after a foot chase with deputies, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said.
