Authorities ID Dead Woman

One woman was killed and six people were injured in a three-vehicle accident in Canton on Thursday afternoon.

 

The woman killed in Thursday's three-vehicle accident has been identified as 30-year-old Amy Finn Watkins of Canton.

Six others were injured in the wreck, which occurred at 3:07 p.m. on the Marietta Highway off ramp at Interstate 575 North, exit No. 14.

James Watson, also of Canton, was among the injured, said Sgt. Stacy Bailey, spokeswoman for the Canton Police Department. Watson, 69, was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta with cuts to his head, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services spokesman Tim Cavender said.

Two other unidentified women, the 33-year-old driver of a black Chevrolet truck and her 53-year-old passenger, had minor injuries. Three unidentified children, a 12-year-old boy, a 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old girl in the back seat, were transported to Scottish Rite Hospital in Sandy Springs with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, Bailey said.
