Arrests Made in Cemetery Thefts
Arnold Fricks and Dustin Chastain are both from Canton.
Two Canton men have been arrested in connection with thefts from a cemetery and a youth baseball concession stand.
Arnold Fricks was arrested on Monday and Dustin Chastain was arrested on Tuesday, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
Accused of stealing eight brass vases from the Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery between May 13 and May 17, Fricks, 23, was charged with felony theft by taking and burglary.
During that same time frame, he allegedly entererd the Macedonia baseball concession stand and stole baseball equipment, apparel, an iPod docking station and a first aid kit.
Authorities found some of the items at Chastain's home, Baker said. Chastain, 17, was charged with two counts of felony theft by receiving stolen property.
While Chastain was released this morning on a $11,400 bond, Fricks remains in custody at the Cherokee County Detention Center in lieu of a $23,900 bond.
