An unidentified 30-year-old woman is dead after a 3-car accident on Marietta Highway at Interstate 575 that left six people injured.
Just after 3 p.m. today, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services and the Canton Fire Department responded to an accident involving a red Honda, a black Chevrolet truck and a white Buick, fire spokesman Tim Cavender and police spokeswoman Sgt. Stacy Bailey said.
The 30-year-old woman, who was driving the Honda, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other women, the 33-year-old driver of the black Chevrolet truck and her 53-year-old passenger, had minor injuries. Three children, a 12-year-old boy, a 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old girl in the back seat, were transported to Scottish Rite Hospital in Sandy Springs with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Buick, a 68-year-old man, was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta with cuts to his head.
The Canton Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.

I'm not surprised. I've almost been hit countless times in this area. Close Ash St at Marietta Hwy and folks need to realize that the turn lane that runs from Prominence Pnt. Pkwy to the on ramp of 575 south IS NOT a lane that you stay in to fly around people at 60 mph.
