Starting today, Canton resident and leading mom blogger Kathy Balman will spearhead a weekend-long fundraiser to shine a light on childhood cancer.

Kathy is best known for her popular parenting blog, Kathy’s Cluttered Mind, http://www.kathysclutteredmind.com.

Mrs. Balman's goal is to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and her lemonade stand. The unique 4-foot-tall stand, dubbed “The Imagination Station,” is part of a national fundraiser taking place this weekend for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). The local in-person fundraiser will take place today only.

However, people can still contribute online throughout the weekend at the fundraising page, http://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/80107.

"The Imagination Station" was decorated using RoseArt art materials and crafts. All proceeds will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a leading philanthropic organization dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research.

Kathy’s homeschool group, the North GA Homeschoolers, will host a lemonade stand to help raise money for children with cancer. The group feels strongly about the importance of helping those in need in addition to helping their community.
