Cherokee County School District Releases Annual Report of District Progress 2011-12
The 2011-12 Annual Report of District Progress reflects continued outstanding success by the School Board, the Superintendent of Schools and the School District’s 4,500 employees -- including teachers, principals and support staff – in fulfilling the School District’s Mission and Major System Priorities… despite extremely challenging economic times resulting in cuts to the School District budget of $120 Million over the last five years. The Report illustrates the high levels of achievement attained last year and over the past decade by Cherokee students – significantly outscoring both State and National averages on standardized assessments. The report also outlines construction projects completed due to voter approval of Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (Ed-SPLOST) measures, as well as new initiatives undertaken by the School District in recent years to increase student achievement.
